Automatic machines for the separation and reclamation crt

We manufacture an automatic machine for the disposal of cathode ray tubes.

The glass of the tube is separated from its internal powders.

How the machine works

The AP760 c.r.t. recycling system bases its workings on the separation of the cathode ray tube using diamond cut disks that guarantee a precise and fast cut.

The whole separation and reclamation process happens in “wet mode” through a closed circuit hydraulic system that powers both the diamond cut disks and the brushes needed for the reclamation of the powders present in the front panel.

The water used by the system, purified from the glass-powder residue, goes back into the circuit and powders containing metals are safely harboured and collected in appropriate containers inside the machinery.

The disposal process

Screens, monitors and televisions arrive with their glass cone of the cathode tube already clean of electrical and electronic parts. Our machines recycle this part.
The cathode tube is inserted into the AP 760 machine and treatment process is started and is totally automated as described below:
  1. the cathode tube is set up by the operator into its appropriate seat where it is kept in place by suction and transported on a slide that travels the full length of the machine.
  2. It arrives at the first cutting station to separate the screen glass from the cone glass. Diamond cut silent disks cut the cone on both sides with a spray of water to cool the tools and put down the glassy powder residue produced.
  3. the second cutting station, identical to the first, cuts the other two sides and the glass part of the cone falls onto a belt that takes it to the outside of the machine and into a collection container.
  4. The glass part of the screen passes on to a washing station with brushes where powders are eliminated and collected in a tub that allows for collection of suspended particles. Water goes through the treatment for a new cycle and the particles and dust are collected and stocked for disposal.
  5. the glass screen is transported into a collection unit.
  6. water from the cutting and the screen washing are collected and sent on to a decanter which separates the suspended glass powder particles: these are collected in raffia sacks and stocked for recovery whilst the water is recycled into the machinery.
  7. the two types of glass are collected separately for a later treatment or for being sent on to external plants.
