Cathode tube

The term cathode ray tube or cinescope is more commonly abbreviated to CRT and represents technology commonly used in computer and television screens. Cathode rays are conveyed to a sensitive screen that makes images visible. CRT screens are measured diagonally in inches. Today, cathode tube technology is becoming less common as new technology like plasma or liquid crystal screens are less bulky and production costs keep getting lower. Cathode tube screens have the advantage though of having faster reaction times, truer colours and lower running costs – even lower with dark colours.
The cathode ray tube is the dangerous part o television and computer screens because of the phosphoric powders inside and because of the composition of the conical glass. The particular type of vitreous insides of the tube make it a good recycling element. Machine description for the recovery of the cathode tube glass: design studies were carried out to find the best technical and mechanical solutions in order to better running operations and system efficiency of systems already in use for WEEE reclamation, in particular or the reclamation of the glass from cathode ray tubes in televisions.
